The purpose of this inspection is to identify visible defects and operational concerns that may impact safety, comfort, and normal use of the interior doors and windows.
As part of the home inspection, we perform a visual evaluation of accessible interior doors and windows in accordance with the New Jersey Home Inspection Standards of Practice (NJAC 13:40-15).
⢠Operation of a representative number of interior doors and windows
⢠Visible condition of frames, sashes, and surrounding finishes
⢠Proper opening, closing, and latching where accessible
⢠Signs of damage, deterioration, or moisture intrusion
⢠Cracked glass, broken seals, or improper modifications where observable
⢠General safety concerns such as missing hardware or sharp edges
The doors and windows inspection is visual and non-invasive and does not include:
⢠Testing for air leakage or energy efficiency
⢠Inspecting concealed framing or flashing
⢠Removing screens, coverings, or window treatments
⢠Structural engineering analysis
If doors or windows are inaccessible, painted shut, blocked by furniture, or unsafe to operate, this will be noted in the inspection report.
